Flu vaccinations - support us to support you!

If you are eligible for a free flu vaccination we will be inviting you in for you vaccine in a slightly different way this year.  Because some of you will be higher risk than others we will be prioritising who we see when.  Please wait for either an email, text, letter or phone call from us to book in.

Organising the flu clinics is very costly and we have already bought and paid for a vaccination for you if you are eligible.  We would really appreciate it if you supported us and have  your vaccine done with us; we are in a safe controlled environment with all the necessary PPE, social distancing rules and we have immediate access to your medical records should the need arise.

We do NOT ask any other organisations e.g.supermarket, chemists to do the flu vaccine on our behalf as this takes funding away from us.  We have doctors, nurses, reception and admin staff all prepared to come in during weekends so we can offer you a first class service and ensure you are safe to the best of our ability.

Making an appointment

If you feel you need to speak with a doctor for an urgent matter please ring the surgery on 01606 544644 and the Care Navigator will make you a telephone appointment for the same day. The doctor will ring you and if they feel you need to be seen face to face they will make this appointment for you.

Alternatively you can use the eConsult model to contact us, on the home page of our website there is a big blue banner which has a “Get started” button. This allows you to fill out a form which we will receive and action in the same way as a phone call. There is no delay/difference in a telephone call from a patient compared to an eConsult.

If you want to speak with a doctor but it is not urgent for example a medication review, you can either ring or use eConsult to make a routine telephone appointment with a doctor of your choice.

All requests for extension to sick notes must be requested via eConsult.

When you come to the surgery

Wherever possible you must come alone

You must wear a face covering (this can be an actual face mask or a scarf – it must cover your mouth and nose)

Please wait in your car until the doctor/nurse rings you. There is no need for you to ring us we will just assume you are here at your appointment time, when the clinician rings you they will explain what you need to do to come into the surgery safely.
