Noticeboard

All 5 GP Practices in Winsford have been running the Red Clinic for suspected Covid-19 patients for a couple of weeks now. We would like to thank everyone for their support in this, particularly the car park marshals, Friends of Winsford Town Park and the Town Council.

There are some really important points we would like to make:

  1. This is NOT a drop-in clinic. If you feel you need to see a doctor because of possible covid-19 you need to access NHS 111 (preferably on-line), or your GP practice if you cannot get through. The Red Clinic is by appointment only.
  1. If you are invited to attend the Red Clinic you should drive there with windows closed, indicate to the marshals that you are for the Red Clinic, and stay in your car with your windows still closed until you are advised to do otherwise.
  1. If you are invited to attend the Red Clinic you should ONLY drive to the clinic and back home again.
  1. The Red Clinic is NOT a testing centre, do not ask to come to this clinic just because you want a test.

Appointments

appointments

Important:

You do not have to make an appointment in order to have forms completed (for example, housing letter). Please bring these forms to the reception desk at the surgery asking when would be a suitable time to collect them. There are charges for certain forms which will be explained to you when you hand over your form.

Making an Appointment

If you require a routine appointment please ring the surgery on 01606 544644 to make this appointment.  It would help us if you could avoid ringing between 8am and 10am as this is the busiest time for us as we are dealing with requests for urgent appointments. A quicker and easier way to book your appointments is via either your phone using the GPAsk app or from your PC, laptop or tablet from the home page of swanlowmedicalcentre.co.uk

If you feel your appointment is of an urgent nature (i.e. new acute illness) you should ring the surgery on 01606 544644 and explain to the receptionist that you have a health issue you would deem to be urgent, you will then be offered either a telephone consultation with a GP or you may be offered an appointment on the same day you are ringing in.

If you feel your problem is not urgent and you do not need to be examined you can request a telephone consultation with a GP.  Please ensure you give an up to date contact phone number to the receptionist and that you will be available when they call you back.  The doctor will call you back as soon as necessary or in the next few days.  Alternatively they will suggest that an appointment is made.

Chaperone Policy

Our doctors will request a chaperone to be present in certain circumstances in order to protect the interests of both the patient and themselves. If this has not been offered and you consider it necessary please ask.  We also now have a trained male chaperone should the need arise.
